Kimberly Markarian is an operatically trained lyric soprano, with a crazy belt, that has a passion for music and a gift for communicating style and technique to aspiring artists. Since graduating with a Masters of Music, from the University of British Columbia in 2000, she has firmly established herself as a Musical Theatre Producer, Director, and Vocal Instructor in Western Canada. Kimberly teaches a wide range of styles & repertoire to her students including Pop, Rock, Musical Theatre, and Classical repertoire. She has recently received certification from Estill Voice International , as an Estill Master Trainer  and is currently a faculty member of the Performing Arts School at Capilano University. The emphasis in her lessons is focused on building a strong foundation in vocal technique through understanding the basic anatomy and physiology of the voice, and the expression of intent and character through the voice & body. Over the last twenty five years as a vocal instructor, through her thriving private studio, Kimberly has taught beginners from the young to “young at heart” and has enjoyed challenging them to participate in recitals, festivals, examinations, and competitions. Many have successfully auditioned for local theatre companies, Agents, and for Training & University Music programs across Canada, U.S.A., and the United Kingdom in Acting, Classical Music, and Musical Theatre Programs. Kimberly also contributes to her community as the Youth Program Director for the Kay Meek Arts Center. Since 2015 she has developed a thriving youth program focused on teaching and nurturing the skills and craft of live performance by mounting two musicals every summer.Kimberlycontinues to create opportunities for young artists in her community, to raise the level of their technical skill, and ignite their passion in performance!
